We started our third week of homeschooling today, and each week has had its ups and downs—as expected.

The biggest struggle I was having was with my 7-year-old and cursive. The last 2 days I had her work in her cursive workbook it took her around 3 hours—each day—to do two letters (per day).

Ultimately, I decided she isn’t ready just yet, and bought her a print handwriting workbook instead.

Things have been going much smoother since making this switch.

I’m still learning what things I can add in to our school weeks to break up the monotony of workbooks.

This past Wednesday, we did a hands-on experiment rather than working from our science workbooks.

My oldest has been talking about Oobleck for the last year or two. So, I bought Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss, and some corn starch.

We read the book, then we made Oobleck. Interesting stuff.

On the poetry front, I’m still waiting to hear back from three publications, and I’ve not made any new submissions. I haven’t even looked into making new submissions.

Homeschooling has put me at a bit of a stand still in that department, but that’s okay.

I haven’t really been doing much reading either, other than what I do with the kids during the school day.

I don’t know when the last time was that I picked up The Unveiled Wife. I feel like doing some reading on that this evening. Thinking I may skip the “Behind the Veil” questions at the end of the chapters though.

I feel like I’m somewhat cheating myself by not answering them, but I also feel like expecting myself to answer them before moving on is holding me back.

On another note, my van is acting up again. Might be the fuel pump (even though it was replaced back in January), but could be something else. Who knows.

We had been saving to replace this van, then the car accident happened…

As much as I like my van, I’ll be glad to finally be rid of this cash cow.

Hoping you all find yourselves healthy and well.

Keep reading. Keep writing.
